Mentoring
At Christ Church, we want to be a community ‘With Jesus, Like Jesus, For Jesus’. Being part of an intentional mentoring relationship can offer a personal route to continued growth to maturity in faith.
WHAT IS MENTORING?
Mentoring is a relationship of trust in which a mentor supports another person to develop in maturity as a disciple of Christ through periodic confidential meetings and prayer. In this safe space, what is happening in their life can be expressed and processed to recognise what God is doing. The mentor can offer discerning listening and encouragement in providing a wider perspective to explore issues - building vision and sharing know-how and wise counsel. Appointments will be available from January 2022.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
Members of Christ Church who would like a mentor will be linked with one by the coordinator, with a view to meeting up for 60-90 minutes every 4-6 weeks. Periodic reviews will be in place to discern when a natural end is reached. The mentors are members of CCA, who are people of mature and growing faith in Jesus Christ with a servant heart and gift for being alongside others. They are open to listening to the Holy Spirit with a foundation in the Scriptures and they have received specific training for this ministry.
FINDING A MENTOR
The process to find a mentor can be initiated through completing this basic ChurchSuite form, where details will be forwarded to the Mentoring Coordinator. Alternatively, contact can be made by emailing mentoring@cca.uk.net or through the Church Office (01235 539172). The coordinator will then get in touch with you to talk through what kind of mentor would be best suited to support you.
