Roots is a group for young adults to grow in friendship and faith. We want to welcome you to our fortnightly catch-ups, these range from coffee & cake, social gatherings and a space to delve into the Word of God. As we move from age 18 through to 30, it is often a time of transition and change. This is a space to connect, grow and establish deeper roots spiritually and within the church community.
Roots is a new group at Christ Church, a space for young adults to grow in friendship and faith together.
Roots holds fortnightly catch-ups (currently online), such as coffee & cake, social gatherings and space to delve in the Word of God. Our aim is to help provide a place to connect, grow and establish deeper roots spiritually and within the church community.
Young Adults Small Groups
Often people are looking for a small group with others their age. You are welcome to join any small group but those that include quite a number of people in the 18-30s age range are:
- After Eight
- The Kitchener's Small Group
- Faith and Cake (no additional capacity at present)
To see details of these small groups, please visit the SMALL GROUPS page.
We have a range of services at Christ Church (see our SUNDAY page for details), all of which provide a warm welcome for those of any age, but many of those aged 18-30 come to the 6.30pm service. To be kept informed about 6.30pm services and events, and find out how to get involved, please contact Nessa Watts, the 6.30pm service pastor, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Robin and Jo Wakefield are part of the hosting team at the 6.30pm service. They are older but young at heart and naturally connect with and enjoy hosting young adults. They are, in this season, inviting groups of 4 young people over at a time (making 6, with them) to hang out together (e.g. for games or pizza and a movie) so that they can connect with others their age, in a large house where they can socially distance. If you’d like to come to one of these meet-ups, please contact Robin and Jo via ChurchSuite. Please note: In lockdown these meet-ups are moving online.
